A Umeshu Spritz is a refreshing, lightly sweet, and bubbly cocktail that combines the rich, fruity depth of Japanese umeshu (plum wine) with sparkling wine and soda. It’s perfect for a romantic meal or as an elegant aperitif.

Ingredients:

Garnish (Optional):

  • A slice of plum or lemon
  • A sprig of fresh mint

Method:

  1. Fill a large wine glass or highball glass with ice cubes.
  2. Pour in 50ml umeshu.
  3. Top with 75ml prosecco and 50ml soda water.
  4. Stir gently and garnish with a lemon rind twist, or mint sprig.

Variations & Tips

  • For a sweeter version: use tonic water instead of soda.
  • For a citrusy twist: add a splash of yuzu juice.
