Shiro murasaki white soy sauce is distinguished by its pale colour, allowing it to be used as a rich soy seasoning without darkening the colour of the dish in the same way as a traditional soy sauce.
A sweet soy sauce
Our light soy sauces are made from a higher percentage of wheat than fermented soy beans, meaning they have a sweeter flavour and lighter colour than darker soy sauce. This makes them ideal for use in dishes with more delicate flavours.
Why choose white soy sauce?
Shiro Murasaki white soy sauce is hugely versatile and offers a unique sweetness that dark soy sauce doesn’t possess. This carefully crafted Japanese soy sauce is also chosen over other soy sauce varieties by chefs since it doesn’t disrupt the colour and subtle flavours of other ingredients.
Chinese soy sauces often have a saltier flavour since they are made with 100% soy beans, meaning they can be too harsh, whereas our delicate white soy sauce subtly enhances the flavours in your dish to bring out an even better taste.
The best ways to enjoy white soy sauce
This light soy sauce is a great option to season stocks, broths, noodles, braised vegetables, seasoned rice and stir fries, but is also a great dipping sauce.
This soy sauce can change colour when cooked at high temperature (the amino acids together with the natural sugar in the soy sauce will brown). After opening it can also darken with natural oxidisation. Keep refrigerated to preserve its pale colour but rest assured you can continue using it even if the colour darkens.
