Discover the rich, complex flavours of this premium soy sauce, carefully crafted using traditional Japanese methods. Brewed in small batches by Horikawaya Nomura, one of Japan’s oldest soy sauce producers with over 300 years of expertise, this shoyu embodies authentic depth and umami.

Made from just four natural ingredients - whole soybeans, wheat, salt and water - this naturally fermented soy sauce undergoes a slow ageing process in century-old cedar barrels, developing a deep, well-balanced taste. The result is a smooth, slightly sweet and richly savoury flavour, perfect for enhancing sushi, sashimi, grilled meats or for lightly dressing rice and vegetables.

Unlike mass-produced soy sauces, the well-rounded flavour will also complement delicate seafood and crispy fried foods without overpowering them. With a smoother, more refined taste, it is perfect for finishing dishes without making them too salty.

Infuse meats, fish, tofu and vegetables with depth and umami by using this soy sauce as a marinade. When combined with ingredients like garlic, ginger, honey or mirin, it tenderises proteins while adding a rich, authentic Japanese taste. Ideal for teriyaki dishes, grilled meats and yakitori.

A dash of Horikawaya Nomura soy sauce can enhance stir-fried vegetables, rice, noodles and tofu dishes. It presents an easy way to add umami without needing extra salt or artificial seasonings. Try in fried rice, yakisoba noodles, or vegetable stir-fries for an authentic Japanese flavour.
