A fantastic addition to any UK garden, Giant's Heart Honeyberry (Lonicera caerulea) is capable of producing up to 4kg of uniquely shaped, deep blue berries per bush with a delicious balance of sweetness and tartness. These nutrient-rich fruits are packed with antioxidants, making them perfect for eating fresh, jams, desserts, smoothies, freezing and for making wine.
Honeyberries have a richer, more intense berry flavour than blueberries with a slightly softer texture. This unique flavour is best described as a mix between blueberries, blackberries and raspberries, with a hint of blackcurrant. Some varieties also have subtle notes of strawberry, cherry or even a slight tang of kiwi.
Their natural sweetness develops fully when ripe, balancing out the refreshing tartness.
Plants are approximately 60cm tall including pot.
This plant requires a pollination partner - for the best fruit production, plant alongside Honeyberry ‘Strawberry Sensation’
