Made in Hasami, a historic pottery town in Nagasaki Prefecture, this teacup belongs to the Hasamiyaki tradition – known for over 400 years of craftsmanship. Hasamiyaki ceramics are celebrated for their balance of beauty and practicality, often blending traditional shapes with a modern aesthetic.

The name Kurosendan combines kuro (black) and sendan (a decorative banding technique), referring to the cup’s rich, dark colour and fine concentric ridges that give it texture and character.
