Kenko mayonnaise is a flagship product of the Kenko Corporation, renowned for its thick creamy texture and balanced, rich flavour that has made it a staple in Japanese kitchens and a popular condiment around the world.

It was introduced to the Japanese market as an alternative to Western mayonnaise, tailored with a focus on richer umami flavours and a wonderful balance of tanginess and sweetness.

Kenko is made with only the egg yolk rather than whole egg and uses rice vinegar as a base rather than white wine vinegar, giving it delicate tangy citrus-notes. The addition of mustard seed and spices give it a slight kick and greater depth of flavour.

This is not wasabi flavour

So disappointing after looking everywhere and paying too much. Boring old Kenko that you can get anywhere.

Hi Emma, as per our email correspondence last week, we are very sorry you mistook this for wasabi mayonnaise. There is no mention of wasabi in the product name, description or ingredients. We are not aware of Kenko making a wasabi mayonnaise, Kewpie make a wasabi mayonnaise, that may be the source of your confusion.

We grow wasabi in the UK and produce and sell many wasabi products, all of which are clearly marked as containing wasabi. We also sell many Japanese ingredients that do not contain wasabi.

In our email to you last week we offered you a free jar of our own award-winning Wasabi Mayonnaise, to mitigate the disappointment caused by your misunderstanding. We very much hope you will take us up on the offer.
